The Intellectual Property and Technology Law Research Center (“we”, “us”, “our”) is dedicated to advancing knowledge and expertise in Data Protection, Intellectual Property and Technology Laws.

We take your privacy seriously and this Privacy Notice outlines our policies for responsibly collecting, using, and protecting your personal data. Recognizing privacy as an ongoing responsibility, we will update this Privacy Notice as our data practices evolve or new privacy standards emerge, maintaining transparency and upholding your trust in how we handle your personal information.
Scope

This privacy notice applies to any Services provided by us where this privacy notice is referenced, regardless of how you access or use them, including through mobile devices. It also applies to any other communication we may have with you.

We do not discriminate against any customer based on the exercise of their consumer rights.

Personal information we collect when you use our Services

1. Training
If you register for our training directly with us, we collect the following information: name, contact details, email address, and payment information. Alternatively, you may sign up for training through a third party, such as your employer. Your personal data will be stored in our database.

We may enlist independent contractors to conduct the training and use third-party venues. Your data may be shared with our training partners, trainers, or the event venue for identity verification upon arrival. We, along with our partners and hosts, have agreed not to disclose or use your information for purposes other than providing our products and services.
2. Certification
When registering for our certification exam, we collect the following information: name, contact details, email address, exam results, and any information regarding special accommodations you may require.

Only our authorized employees have access to your certification exam scores and personal information pertaining to any special accommodations you may request.
3. Live Events
When you register for one of our events, we collect the information in order to facilitate your participation and deliver relevant services associated with the event. Mainly the following information: name, email address, company, postal address, phone number. You may be asked to provide supplementary information during the registration process, such as events history with us, dietary preferences, and some background about professional role and industry. This additional data helps us tailor the event experience to your specific needs and interests.

We use the information provided by event attendees to deliver event services and for billing purposes when payment is made during registration. After the event, we de-identify the collected attendee information and use this data to review event outcomes and plan for future events.

If you are a presenter at one of our events, we collect the following information: your name, employer, contact details, photograph, attendee evaluations of your presentation. In some instances, we may also make and store a recording capturing your voice and likeness.

We maintain records of your involvement in our events, whether as an attendee or presenter. This information allows us to provide you with relevant certification services and inform you about upcoming events or publications that may be of interest. Additionally, it helps us gain insights into your professional needs and interests, enabling us to tailor our products and services to better meet your requirements.

During live event registration, you have the option to consent to being included in an attendee list. This list is shared with event sponsors, exhibitors, and fellow attendees. You also have the choice to opt-in to receive promotional mailings from our event sponsors and exhibitors. In such cases, we engage a third-party mailing service and do not directly provide your mailing address to the sponsors or exhibitors.

4. Publications & Newsletters
To provide you with our newsletter via email we collect the following information received from you: first name, last name, email address, and country of residence. This data is used solely to deliver newsletters. Opting in to our newsletter is optional and constitutes direct marketing. You can unsubscribe from newsletters and marketing messages at any time.

5. Web-conference
When you register for one of our web conferences, we collect the following information to ensure your participation: Name, contact information, and payment information (if the event is not free).

We maintain records of your involvement in web conferences whether as an attendee or presenter. This information allows us to inform you about upcoming events or publications that may be of interest.

Personal information we collect when you interact with us


If you correspond with us by email, or other form of communication, we may retain such correspondence and the information contained in it and use it to respond to your inquiry or to keep a record of your complaint, accommodation request, or similar concern.
